Kym Bushmire

Operations Director

Kym Bushmire is the Chief Operations Director of the Academy & The Dancer's Boutique. A Georgia Dance Theatre alumna, Ms. Bushmire received her dance training from Georgia Academy of Dance & the Performing Arts, Kris Cangelosi Dance Project, Georgia State University and the LaFayette Society of the Arts.

Ms. Bushmire's extensive experience and unwavering dedication to the Georgia Academy of Dance & the Performing Arts, as well as the broader arts community, truly exemplify her profound impact in fostering creativity and artistic development. With a versatile portfolio that includes guest choreography for esteemed organizations such as Georgia Dance Theatre and the Sinfonicron Light Opera Company, alongside her performances with the Cangelosi Dance Project and at the Centennial Olympic Games Opening Ceremonies, Ms. Bushmire has not only showcased her artistic prowess but has also inspired countless young artists through her teaching over ten seasons at the Academy.

Ms. Bushmire has held several leadership roles with the Academy, which have included Production Coordinator and Associate Director, which all positions highlight her pivotal influence on the Academy's growth.​

As Operations Director, Ms. Bushmire meticulously oversees the day-to-day operations of the Academy and manages the staff, ensuring a nurturing environment that prioritizes the well-being of everyone. Furthermore, her active participation as a member of the Board of Directors and Secretary/Treasurer of Georgia Dance Theatre underscores her commitment to community engagement and promoting the arts within the local area.

Ms. Bushmire is an example of the vital component of developing the next generation of creative leaders that the Georgia Academy of Dance & the Performing Arts is known for.
