Dance Educator

Abigail Busby has a diverse background in ballet and contemporary dance. Her training began at Atlanta Ballet and Mainstream Dance under Jaime Robtison, supplemented by training under scholarship with prestigious institutions including the School of American Ballet, Miami City Ballet, Rock School of Ballet, and Covington Regional Ballet.

Ms. Busby's performance experience is extensive. She has portrayed various roles in the Atlanta Ballet's Nutcracker, and notably danced the lead role of Sophie in Twyla Tharpe’s world premiere of *The Princess and the Goblin*. She has also contributed to productions by Terminus Modern Ballet Theatre, performing in pieces such as "Italian Symphony," "Gust," and "A Step in Three."

As a Leading Artist with Georgia Dance Theatre professional company, Ms. Busby has excelled in principal roles such as Clara, Dewdrop, and Arabian in *The Nutcracker*. She has also performed as the Crystal Fountain Fairy in *The Sleeping Beauty* and taken on demi-soloist roles in *Don Quixote*. In 2022, she danced the lead role of Sugar Plum Fairy in the Georgia Dance Theatre's Nutcracker, and in 2023, she performed as the "Stepsister" in *Cinderella*. Additionally, Ms. Busby played the principal role of Painter in Sherri Davis' original ballet, *An American in Paris*. In 2025, Ms. Busby danced the lead role of Sugar Plum Fairy in Georgia Dance Theatre's Nutcracker Ballet.​

Ms. Busby teaches all levels of the Academy's Classical Ballet program, various Early Childhood, and Contemporary programs. Ms. Boivin is also a certified athletic trainer and conducts Strengthening and Conditioning classes at Georgia Academy of Dance & the Performing Arts.​
