Christen Edwards

Ms. Edwards is in her debut season as a professional member of Georgia Dance Theatre. She has trained with the Boston Ballet, Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet and Southwest Virginia Ballet. Ms. Edwards’ professional credits include performing with Ballet North Performance Company, City Dance Ensemble of Atlanta and North Carolina Dance Theatre. She has performed principal roles in The Nutcracker, Carmen, Giselle, Paquita, Sleeping Beauty, Coppelia and Cinderella. She currently performed the role of Snow Queen in Georgia Dance Theatre’s production of The Nutcracker. Ms. Edwards is a graduate of Georgia State University with a degree in Communications and Public Relations.  Ms. Edwards is a classical ballet educator at Georgia Academy of Dance & the Performing Arts.

 

Mary Grace Phillips

Ms. Phillips is in her 10th season as a Georgia Dance Theatre company member and in her 2nd season as a Professional Company member.
Ms. Phillips is a graduate of Belhaven College with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Dance. While attending Belhaven, she performed original and classical works with the Belhaven Dance Ensemble and Belhaven Theatre Department. She has recently continued her dance training in summer intensives with the Richmond Ballet and Atlanta Ballet. Ms. Phillips has also performed, choreographed and taught workshops for Shachah Touring Company in Shachah, Japan.  Ms. Phillips was Alice in Alice in Wonderland and Clara in Georgia Dance Theatre’s production of The Nutcracker Ballet. She has performed various lead roles throughout her 16 years with Georgia Academy of Dance & the Performing Arts. In 2009, Ms. Phillips performed the lead role of Kitri in Georgia Academy of Dance & the Performing Arts production of Don Quixote. Additional roles include Alice in Alice in Wonderland and Clara in Georgia Dance Theatre’s production of The Nutcracker. Ms. Phillips is a grant writer for Georgia Dance Theatre and dance educator with Georgia Academy of Dance & the Performing Arts.
 

Jennifer Ritorto

Jennifer Ritorto received her early training at the Academy of Ballet Arts in Marietta, GA and then went on to the University of Georgia where she graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Mathematics and a Minor in Dance. At UGA, she danced with companies such as Dancefx, UGA’s Ballet Ensemble, and Core Concert Dance Company. She continued her dance education with such well-know companies as Broadway Theatre Project, Pointe Park Intensive, and Charleston Ballet Theatre. She went on to dance with other prestigious dance companies such as Houston Metropolitan Dance Company, Sideways Contemporary Dance Company, and now currently with Georgia Dance Theatre. She works for Ameriprise Financial as a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ helping families and individuals plan for their financial goals. When she is not dancing or planning, she enjoys spending her free time with her dog, Snickers. Jennifer Ritorto is in her second season with Georgia Dance Theatre Professional Company. Ms. Ritorto danced the principal role of Anita in Georgia Academy of Dance and the Performing Arts production of West Side Story in June 2011.
 

Megan Johnson

Megan Johnson is in her second season as a professional company member of Georgia Dance Theatre. She has performed professionally with the 14th Street Playhouse, Impact Dance of Atlanta, and the Woodland Performing Arts Center. Additional professional credits include the Will Rogers Follies, Spellbound, Copacabana and Pippin with various professional theater companies. She received full scholarships to Belhaven College and North Atlanta School of the Arts. She received additional training with Ballet Magnificate Trainee Program and Cobb County Center for Excellence in the Performing Arts. In June 2011, Ms. Johnson performed the lead role of Maria in Sherri Davis’ original choreography of West Side Story and Sugar Plum Fairy in Georgia Dance Theatre’s Nutcracker Ballet.
 

Hayley Stone

Ms. Stone is a graduate of the Nutmeg Conservatory of the Arts where she received training from such notable dance educators as Sharon Dante, Kevin Martin, Eleanor D’Antuono, Alexei Tchernichov, Victoria Mazzarelli, and Joan Kunsch. Ms. Stone also established herself as a rehearsal assistant and dance educator at the Nutmeg Conservatory of the Arts. She attended the North Carolina School of the Arts in Winston Salem, NC. Ms. Stone is a former professional company member of the Atlanta Festival Ballet under contract for 5 seasons. She also held the position of Classical Ballet Educator and Summer Intensive Coordinator for the school. She has performed such lead roles as Sugar Plum, Dew Drop and Arabian in the Nutcracker and Tiger Lilly in Peter Pan. Ms. Stone will be performing the principal role of Giselle in Georgia Academy of Dance’s production of Giselle in June 2012.
