Contemporary movement of the latest forms of street funk. All forms of jazz taught at Georgia Academy of Dance & the Performing Arts incorporate hip hop styles. These classes exclusively focus on hip hop styles and are not lyrical. No previous dance experience needed.
*All students ages 9-11 wishing to enroll in Hip Hop must be enrolled in a jazz technique class.
Dress
Ages 9-11 – Any color leotard, Capezio, Bloch or SoDanca black lace-up or slip on jazz oxford, Black jazz pants. T-shirts are not allowed over leotards. Hair in ponytail.
Ages 12 & up – Any color leotard, black jazz pants (not crop pants), Black Capezio DS27 Pro Impact Trainer Jazz Sneaker. If shirt is desired over leotard, “Pop Top” shirt is available at The Dancer’s Boutique in any color. No other type shirt will be allowed! Hair in ponytail.
Males – dark pants, dark shorts with black biker shorts, any color T-shirt – no baggy shirts. Black Jazz Sneaker.
